Delete Everything at Once

Sometimes you want to clear everything and start over. You have two options:

Ctrl + U

Delete Everything Before Cursor

Clears from the cursor to the beginning of the line.

Ctrl + K

Delete Everything After Cursor

Clears from the cursor to the end of the line.

The Quick Combo

If you're at the end of a line and want to delete everything:

  • Ctrl + U — deletes the whole line instantly

This is faster than pressing Ctrl + C because you stay on the same prompt.

Key Takeaway

Ctrl + U clears your current line. It's your "start over" button.
